Workforce Readiness
The Job Connection program has temporarily been paused through at least August due to COVID-19.
This program connects youth with residents in the Forest Lake Area and Chisago County. Residents hire youth to help them with their household chores such as yard work or cleaning. Residents get an extra hand, and youth receive payment for the work.
High School students now have the opportunity to explore various careers and experience them in a real work setting while getting paid and earning school credit. This program is in partnership with Forest Lake Area High School.
Teens can work one-on-one with a professional mechanic in a real shop setting. This hands-on program teaches kids to repair small engines and also develop professional skills.
After-School/Summer Programs
Kids in grades 4-6 in Chisago County can join this program at their elementary school! Learn about refusal skills, positive decision making, as well as have exciting presenters such as the K-9 Unit and EMS.
At this 2-day camp, children (entering 3-5th grade) have the opportunity to experiences and learn about a variety of safety issues. From first aid from EMS, bike safety with the FLPD, and special presenters, this is a fun and exciting way for children to practice safety.
